If you want to change the text that appears in the input field of your chat (“Type a question here…”), you can do so using the Input Field Placeholder setting. This feature allows you to customize the placeholder text to better guide your users and align with your brand’s tone.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Open the agent for which you want to configure the custom input field placeholder and go to the Interface bar located in the sidebar on the left
- Find the ‘Input Field Placeholder‘ setting toggle. Here, you can change the default text ‘type a question here‘ to your preferred text
- You can also replace the placeholder text by switching off this setting
- Save your settings
